Fear Allah and be moderate in seeking your provisions

Narrated on the Authority of: Jabir bin Abdullah
that the Messenger of Allah (saw) said:
“O people, fear Allah and be moderate in seeking a living/provisions, for no soul will die until it has received all its provisions, even if it is slow in coming. So fear Allah and be moderate in seeking provision; take that which is permissible and leave that which is forbidden.

Chapter no: 14, Book of The Chapters on Business Transactions. Hadith no: 2144. Sunnan ibn Majah

عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم:أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ ، اتَّقُوا اللهَ ، وَأَجْمِلُوا فِي الطَّلَبِ ، فَإِنَّ نَفْسًا لَنْ تَمُوتَ حَتَّى تَسْتَوْفِيَ رِزْقَهَا ، وَإِنْ أَبْطَأَ عَنْهَا ، فَاتَّقُوا اللهَ ، وَأَجْمِلُوا فِي الطَّلَبِ ، خُذُوا مَا حَلَّ ، وَدَعُوا مَا حَرُمَ.

Another Narration

Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “ Jibreel has inspired to me that no soul will die until it has completed its appointed term and received its provisions in full, so fear Allaah and do not be desperate in seeking provisions, and no one of you should be tempted to seek provision by means of committing sin if it is slow in coming to him, for that which is with Allaah can only be attained by obeying Him.”

Narrated by Abu Na’eem in al-Hilyah; classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Jaami’, no. 2085.
